The fruit of Rubus chingii Hu (Fam. Rosaceae).

Distribution:
Mainly in Chinese provinces such as Zhejiang, Hubei, Jiangxi and Fujian.

Harvest & Processing:
Harvest fruits in early summer when they turn from green to greenish-yellow; remove carpopodiums and leaves; blanch in boiling water or steam briefly; take out and dry.

Description:
Conical, or spherical, or flattened and conical aggregate fruit consisting of numerous drupelets; 0.6-1.3 cm thick, 0.5-1.2 cm in diameter. Outer surface yellowish-green or pale brown, covered with greyish-white pubescence with silky lustre; upper part obtuse; bottom flat, with dull brown persistent calyx; persistent calyx sometimes with brown hairs, and often with a slender carpopodium underneath. Drupelet triangulate (three-angled), lunate (crescent-shaped); ventral side covered densely with greyish-white pubescence; lateral sides with conspicuous reticulate (net-like) striae; containing 1 brown seed. Odourless; taste: sweet, slightly sour.

Indications:
1. Nocturnal emission, impotence, enuresis, urinary frequency
2. Blurring of vision.

Chemical Composition:
Mainly contains fupenzic acid. Crude Drug
